Marco Borsato White Light Tour 2008
Seamless handling of complex sculptural surfaces.
Dutch superstar Marco Borsato’s 2008 Witlicht (White Light) tour was perfectly suited for d3. Element Labs’ new Helix P1 LED was used to create a set of concentric ellipses behind the singer, and a curving walkway extending out into the audience.
Moving vertical panels of Stealth were used to display either graphic content or IMAG (live video). d3’s parallel mapping technology allowed seamless mapping of content onto complex shapes, with alpha masks applied to allow smooth blending of different content across the stage. The whole show was sequenced using the d3 visualiser and signed off by the client before production rehearsals. The result: a shorter production rehearsal, significant cost savings, and a perfect show.
