Technical Sales Manager East Coast – d3 NORAM


d3 Technologies is a fast-growing company that sells their products and services to high-end and complex events, shows and installations. Our product range, d3, is an integrated visual video production suite that has been used on productions such as the 2016 Grammies, Madonna MDNA tour, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, the Nokia Lumia lunch, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and many others. d3 Technologies is rapidly expanding its global network of customers.

The d3 Technical Sales Manager East Coast position is a highly technical, yet social sales role with a primary mission of generating sales of d3 hardware products either directly or through channel partners. This will be achieved by demonstrating and operating the d3 range of products on site, at events or in shoot-outs, and converting interest into sales opportunities – working with the VP Sales Americas.

The Technical Sales Manager will also work closely with the internal Product Specialist team and internal and external master users, trainers, resellers and other partners.

This is a hybrid sales and technical expert role working to NORAM sales targets for hardware (and some software sales).

The role is central to the success of d3 Sales in NORAM and is a truly regional East Coast role. Whilst based in the Williamsburg – Brooklyn, NY office we would anticipate 50% of the time is spent traveling, so requires a dynamic, resourceful, flexible approach.

Reports to: VP Sales Americas

Based in: Brooklyn, NY, with travel across the East Coast of America.


•Working closely with the VP Sales Americas to deliver forecast hardware sales revenue for the region.
•To assist the VP Sales Americas in working together providing technical demonstrations of d3 hardware and software to sales prospects and their teams whether they are show designers, end users, technical operators and specifiers, operators or management.
•To also do the above alone, and to manage and close the sales process in those instances, including quoting and negotiating with the client.
•To participate in ‘shoot-outs’ and other product demonstrations, requiring high levels of operating skills.
•To talk to very technically competent customers and operators ‘in their language’ and be a ‘technical product champion’ for d3.
•To be first point of contact for any post sales product enquiries.
•To act in an account manager capacity with existing customers, helping with all technical issues, keeping them abreast of developments, driving extra sales and keeping d3 top of mind.
•To liaise closely with the software dev teams in terms of specifying products and future software developments.
•Liaise closely with the Product Support, Special Projects and Training teams. To look for opportunities with them and co-ordinate training with clients.
•To act as ‘product champion’ in NORAM – East Coast Region with the specifiers and operators.
•To act as ‘product champion’ in exhibitions and events within NORAM.
•To work within sales and marketing budgets and manage personal expenses effectively.

Role requirements:

•Strong technical skills in a similar or relevant product area. They will need to quickly become a ‘super user’ of d3 and be able to demonstrate both the creative and technical understanding to showcase and problem solve with this new technology.
•Strong sales skills probably from experience as a technical sales manager. Ability to persuade, negotiate and develop strong relationships across the industry.
•Commercially strong, diligent and organised.
•Flexible, self-starting and durable, a large proportion of this job will be spent on the road.
•Personable and a strong team player.

Senior Software Engineer

d3 are looking for a senior software engineer who considers themselves to be a generalist programmer, comfortable in many different areas of development.

The successful applicant will enjoy working at the cutting edge of their industry, providing software for demanding end users. They will have a major say in how the code is written, structured and implemented and will be involved in all stages of development from design, through implementation to delivery and support. They will also be required to improve, support and maintain existing areas of the product. Development is conducted in a small, highly focused team, light on process and requiring a hands-on approach.

Because of the nature of our product, opportunities for international travel are also available.

• Produce robust and maintainable code.
• Design, implement and maintain new core systems.
• Maintain and upgrade existing systems.
• Provide support to end users.
• Contribute to the development of an automated testing systems to ensure integrity of code over time.

Role Requirements:
• An interest and understanding in what d3 Technologies does as a company.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Clear & concise communications skills.
• Methodical work ethic, with strong attention to detail.
• At least one commercially released software product or equivalent.
• Experience of key technologies: Visual Studio, C++, Python, Windows, DirectX.
• Ability to work on all areas of the codebase.
• Background in high performance real-time systems
